Depends on what they put around them. Freeman will be solid.

Not a bad at bat by Gonzalez. At least moved McCann over.

Going back to defensive issues, I have wondered if the Braves have worked Hinske some on the corner also leading up to the postseason. He used to play some 3B for the Jays I think, and I wouldn't mind seeing him in there everyday and shifting Infante back to 2b.

Dang Diaz. I like Matt, but kind of expected McLouth or Melky in there tonight against Lincecoum.

Biggin and I talked about this the other day; for the Braves to be successful next year a second year player and a rookie will have to carry them. If they do, watch out they have got something to behold but I think this is their last shot for 2-3 years. It takes time to develop players and they have major issues at 3B/CF/SS imo.

Jordan Hicks doesn't look like he is going to cut it as the SS or future 3B Im afraid. One of the bright spots of Wagner retiring is that he does free up a lot of money, so they can pursue something (not sure who's contracts are up). Im still mystified at how McLouth has played since they traded for him a year ago.

That's another issue, they will go into 2011 with no closer. They would have to spend a ton of money to compete next year imo. Philly/SF/Cin will get better next year imo, the rest of this years NL contenders will get worse. I'm afraid the gap is widening in the NL to the point Philly is turning into the NYY. The teams that have the money to compete with them are in such disarray right now it's not good. CHC, NYM, and LAD are all in bad shape.

Lincecum pitching a heck of a game. Braves offense isn't making him work which is adding to Lincecum's night.

Im really not worried about the closer job. Venters or Kimbrel should fill that spot well. If Atlanta loses this game 1-0 its going to be hard to swallow when that 1 run shouldn't have happened due to a missed call.

If the Braves don't make it to the WS, which they likely won't but you never know, it wouldn't hurt my feelings or nor would it completely surprise me to see the Rangers do it.

If the Braves want to make it or even have a chance of making it, they're going to have to change some things such as their poor offensive execution and the infield needs to quit making errors. The Braves are lucky not to be down 4-0.

    Conrad does it yet again!

well reds fans, atl didnt do too much better, two hits and another terrible defensive game.

atl used to be such a very good defensive team its rough to see, and the offense is scary in the wrong way.
mclouth is a bust, cut him trade him do something. nothing production wise from him.

the braves are in bad shape in the immediate future in terms of offensive production. there is money free, no doubt, but they wont get a guy like carl crawford (but how awesome would that be?) the big time free agents.
im not that worried bout the closer role, a good young talented bullpen maybe somebody steps up.

the offensive production worries me the most, HAVE to do something
